Back we go! We basically had to double back for this ride to
a city that we rode through on the way to Jacob Lake because there is only one
road in and out of the Grand Canyon. Normally, there is a different road than
we took into Jacob Lake but it’s been closed because of a rockslide that
covered the high way. The good thing about having to go back the way we came
was we got to go back to the café in Jacob Lake and we got to descend the huge
climb we had a few days ago! This was probably one of the easiest ride days we
had because of such a huge descent that basically started in the Grand Canyon.
I rode with Dillon out of the Grand Canyon and then picked up with Dan K. We
had a really great time because that day we had to come up with a rap for our
sweep challenge so we were just messing around the whole way to first lunch.
After lunch, Dillon wore my watch down the descent because his bike computer
was broken and he wanted to see how fast he could go. I think he only got up to
like 47mph but wanted to break 50. Our host provided dinner for the first time
in forever it seemed and I was so happy to feel well fed and happy!
